2 | EVERGREEN STORY
Some stories never fade — they grow with us, becoming traditions that define each December. In this lesson, we’ll celebrate the rituals that return year after year: your family tree hunt, the first cup of cocoa, a favorite playlist, or any custom that signals the season has begun. You’ll explore creative ways to document these moments through layered pockets, interactive details, and embellishments that echo the feeling of familiarity and joy. This page reminds us that traditions are living stories — always growing, always evergreen.
Thoughts on gathering embellishments.
Use a 6x8 open pocket page for this page and measure a piece of 12x12 pattern paper to the width and trim.
Measure the height of the pocket page and score at that point. Fold paper down.
Corner round the flap corners.
Distress or sand edges.
Build embellishment on the flap.
EMBELLISHMENT
Adhere PET tape to a piece of acetate that will be the size of the Page Maker frame. Adhere acetate to the inside back of the frame similar to what we did in Lesson 1.
From the top adhere to the page flap.
To the back of the large tree found in the Ephemera, adhere pattern paper. Trim around the white border. Ink edges if desired. Pop up on the acetate frame.
Layer labels and sentiments and tags from the Ephemera to the top of the tree.
Flip up paper, and repeat on the back of the embellished flap.
Slip paper into the 6x8 open pocket page leaving the flap free and over the front edge.
Utilize that back wide of the page for additional photos of your chosen tradition.
