Lesson 01 | Textured Heart Tag
Supplies needed:
Paper Scrap pieces
Ink Distress Oxide Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet
Tools:
Adhesives
Trim Mix Media Paper to desired dimensions. I am using 3 ¼ x 6 ½ inches.
If desired, ink edges ( I am using Distress Oxides) as well as add a bit of script stamping to the edges as well.
With a palette knife, apply Texture Paste through Scattered Heart Stencil onto the paper. Allow to dry well.
While that is drying, let’s color some seam binding. With seam binding and Distress Sprays an a craft mat we can easily customize our own ribbon colors. You will also need a spray bottle of water. Follow along in the video to watch how that is accomplished.
When texture paste is dry, lay the stencil right where it was before with the now texture paste hearts revealed. Using a detail brush or ink blending brush, apply Distress Oxide ink over the hearts. To add a bit of an ombre vibe use two to three different colored inks. Allow the ink to set and dry.
With embossing ink, stamp a heart image to Mix Media paper. Sprinkle with embossing powder and melt with embossing gun. Trim out appropriately. Poke a small hole at the top right.
Assemble:
Wrap ribbon around card/tag and tie a bow.
Thread the heart and the circle embellishment with gold thread. Tie around the bow.
Trim a piece of scrap pattern paper 1 inch x 2 ⅕ inches long. Notch at end with scissors. Tuck under ribbon and heart. Secure with adhesive of choice. Add a few elements of die cut foliage as well.
